Southern California Veterinary Dental Specialties is Hiring a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) Near Irvine, CA

Join our team at Veterinary Dental Specialties Hospital in Irvine as a skilled Veterinary Technician! As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring our patients receive excellent care. A minimum of three years of experience as an RVT and a strong understanding of anesthesia is required for this position. We offer competitive pay based on experience.

Registered Veterinary Technician Duties

  • Monitor anesthetized patients and maintain surgical anesthetic plane of anesthesia. Accurately assess the patient's anesthetic depth and adjust anesthesia accordingly, i.e., ‘bagging patient,’ placing on the ventilator, deep pain stimulus test, etc.
  • Perform dental cleanings, cone beam CT scans, dental radiographs, assist with dental procedures
  • Accurately and efficiently administer induction drugs and intubating patients
  • Provide post-operative care and monitor recovery progress
  • Safely handle, lift, and restrain patients.
  • Successfully perform veterinary medical procedures (i.e., intravenous catheter placement in all peripheral veins, administering injections, venipuncture, IV fluids, and CRIs)
  • Monitor inventory for items needed and stock the hospital appropriately.
  • Process samples utilizing in-house laboratory equipment
  • Candidates must be willing to travel to other hospital locations occasionally with compensation.
  • Maintain a strong work ethic of professionalism, with a positive and motivating personality

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)
  • Registered Veterinary Technician (Required)

Experience:

  • RVT with Veterinary experience: 3 years minimum requirement with a strong understanding of anesthesia
  • Some experience with dental prophylaxis and digital dental radiographs is good, and cone beam CT scanning is a plus
  • Knowledge of ezyVet software and Cubex control substance logging machine is an asset
